Directed by Stephen Daldry and co-directed by Justin Martin, Stranger Things: The First Shadow is a play written by Kate Trefry from an original story by the Duffer Brothers, Jack Thorne and Trefry. The story serves as a prequel to the events of the television series Stranger Things.

Set in Hawkins, Indiana, 1959, the world was brought to life by a multi-award-winning creative team, with 59 Studio leading on Video & Visual Effects Design.

The show has now opened on Broadway at the Marquis Theatre in NYC following its initial opening at the West End’s Phoenix Theatre in December 2023.
